Fundraising as part of team: Preston LTC/MHJ Lands End to John O'Groats Cycling Team!

My Story

Hearing that the wonderful local Brighton children's charity Rockinghorse had been so badly effected by covid, Preston LTC members and friends Brady (Wheadon), Jake (Gerrard) and Gary (Wareham) have decided to try and help by getting on their bikes and taking part in Ride for Rockinghorse, a virtual cycling challenge.

We will virtually cycle the length of the country from Lands End to John O'Groats (cycling the actual miles, not the actual route). The distance is 1,400km or 870 miles and we will ride the full distance, firstly collectively as a team and then individally. So that's a grand total of 2,610 miles!. Got to be worth a generous donation of the price of a few cups of coffee, or a few beers, good friends!

We will be one of 100 cyclists overall, who are coming together to attempt to raise £10,000 for Rockinghorse Children's Charity to help them continue to fund vital services and equipment for sick children and babies across the county of Sussex.

Rockinghorse is a Brighton-based charity which has been supporting children for over 50 years. It was set up in 1967 by Dr Trevor Mann to improve healthcare services for sick children and babies. The charity fundraises for items for every child's treatment, from toys to life-saving equipment.

Rockinghorse are currently fundraising for:

A Co2 monitor for staff at the Royal Alex to monitor a young patients carbon dioxide intake
A massimo sleep study monitor for children needing overnight sleep studies in hospital
A mock MRI scanner for children to play with and prepare themselves for an MRI scan
A dental X Ray machine
Visulate ceiling lights for children's A and E

Any funds you are able to donate will directly help the charity to fund these items.

If you are able to help with an affordable donation, your generosity will be greatly appreciated by the 3 of us, Rockinghorse and, most importantly, by the sick children in hospital and their families we are all aiming to help.

Thank you so very, very much.
